About Me
Sinan Almis is a Turkish American industrial designer, and maker based in Toronto, Canada. He is interested in the intersection of design, fabrication, and technology bringing ideas from CAD to physical reality through hands-on making.
His practice spans product design, 3d printing and prototyping, furniture design, kinetic sculpture, metalwork, jewelry, and digital fabrication. He is experienced in 3D printing, waterjet cutting, laser cutting, CNC routing, lost–wax casting, mould–making, and electronics prototyping.
He is proficient in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, and Arduino.
One of my strengths as a designer is my experience with a variety of materials, from metal and wood to ceramics and plastics. Manufacturing products myself has given me a strong base as a designer who understands how an idea becomes a reality.
